Susan K. Stamilio is a decorative painter living in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. Frequent moves throughout her husband’s career with the US Army and their 30+ year marriage, have allowed the two of them to travel extensively. It has also provided the perfect opportunity for Sue to study and gather research materials on various art forms around the world.

Formal training in fine art and commercial illustration, has positioned Susan to work professionally in the fields of commercial and scientific illustration, architectural drafting, graphics and printing, portrait work, and theater arts. Sue has published four decorative painting books and illustrated five medical and veterinary books. She has created numerous designs for instructive painting magazines, and has taught seminars around the world to students of all skill levels. Susan’s work has been featured at the White House for several special occasions. Commissioned pieces by both the US State Department and the White House have been presented as gifts from sitting US Presidents to both foreign dignitaries and personal friends. She has been featured in decorative art exhibitions in the United States, Australia, Germany, and most recently at the Nihon Vogue Decorative Painting Gallery of the World in Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan.
